FCMFIT was founded in 2019 by professional dancer, Personal trainer and TV personality Flavia Cacace-Mistry and her husband Actor and chef Jimi Mistry. After years of working successfully in the entertainment industry in their respected careers both Flavia and Jimi wanted to embark on new life challenges and decided to go back to school to study as Flavia explains, “Having been a dancer for 25 years, I decided it was time for change. I needed a new challenge both mentally and physically, I needed to start looking after my aching muscles and joints and to recharge my mental and emotional wellbeing after years of hard work and success in my industry. It was time to focus on me.” Jimi had a similar experience, saying “I had been an actor for over 20 years travelled the world and experienced pretty much everything an actor could, from Hollywood to soap and everything in-between, the highs and the lows, I certainly lived a life and have been round the block a few times” he quips. “But I knew I needed a change, I might have been successful but I needed a new challenge.”  With their determination and new directions both Flavia and Jimi decided to explore their new passions further.

“I wanted to find out a bit more about the human body” explains Flavia, I wanted to find out how I could help myself regenerate after so many years of performing, it was then when I came across the Optimum Performance Training Model (OPT) which works on correcting muscular imbalances in the human body, whether these imbalances are from modern day living or in my case performing a particular art or sport. I therefore made the brave decision to study for a CPT L3 Diploma, Nutritional Advisor and OPT Certification with NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), gaining my qualifications in all 3.”

And what about Jimi did he want to study fitness as well?

“It was cooking that was my passion, well more like an obsession really, I only started cooking about 10 years ago, before then I couldn’t even open a tin of beans, Initially I was self-taught but then in 2015 decided to study properly and went to train at Leith’s School of Food and Wine where I gained my diploma in Culinary Arts, passing with distinction” 

So what is FCMFIT?

FCMFIT is a culmination of both our journeys and skillsets” says Flavia. “It’s like an extension of our lives. I believe in the 5 pillars of Total Fitness and if working correctly and in harmony they can lead to a happy a fulfilled life, these pillars are Physical Fitness, Mental Wellbeing, Good Health, Nutrition and Positive Mindset. Hopefully with our online content through the website we can help people live a better, happier and healthier lifestyle” 

So will there be lots of healthy recipes then?

“There certainly will be! in 4 categories Breakfast, Lunch, dinner and snacks” says Jimi.   

So what do you hope people will gain from joining FCMFIT?

“We genuinely believe we can make a difference to people’s lives, whether it be through the fun and interactive DanceHiiT classes and other streamable workouts or bespoke training programs through my online personal training platform.  We hope to inspire people to have a healthy lifestyle through nutrition and the choices that they make day to day.  We also hope that through our online content and YouTube channel FCMTV we can achieve this in a fun and entertaining way.” Flavia explains.  Jimi adds “What you see is all us, from filming in our own home to the editing, music and programming of the workouts and nutritional advice and recipes. FCMFIT is an insight into our lives where hopefully we can build a community of like-minded people who want to enjoy life and get involved.”
